This is the representation of metric item as a structure

• name: The name of your metric
• type: The type of metric. Must be one of :histogram_1m, histogram_1h, histogram_1d, :counter or :gauge
• timestamp: The timestamp of the metrics. May be nil and will be then resolved by the proxy
• source: The host it was sent from
• labels: Keyword list of extra labels
• delta: Only applies to counters if they are delta counters

The serialization of the metrics is done by using the Item.to_text function.
