This check has a base priority of high and works with any version of Elixir.

Explanation

Because if and unless are macros, the preferred style is to not use parentheses around conditions.

# preferred

if valid?(username) do
  # ...
end

# NOT preferred

if( valid?(username) ) do
  # ...
end
